Smart helmet is a wearable helmet which has integrated indicators, brake lights, speakers and microphone. The device uses a microcontroller Arduino/ Raspberry Pi, can be connected to a smartphone using Bluetooth, which has a GPRS connection with a navigation system. The user needs to set the path to a destination. The speakers in the helmet gives a voice command that the driver should take the next deviation (left/ right) ahead as indicated in the map. The device detects this voice command, processes it and detects whether it’s left or right and then turns the indicator light on which flashes for few seconds. There is an accelerometer connected to the helmet, which detects the speed of the vehicle and if the speed decreases the brake light turns on. The helmet has a handsfree technology but the driver can only attend the call if he stops the vehicle.
