Study and Parameter Optimisation of Effluents Treatment Plant.

A detailed study of the ETP plant at Century Rayon was undertaken for duration of fifty six days, within which a systematic analysis including sample collection and laboratory testing was carried out. The results were compared with the expected performance of the machinery and an estimate of the efficiency was put forth. Effluents or waste water stream from plants generally comes in two streams: Zinc rich & Zinc lean; both are treated separately & then mixed and sent for further treatment. The design capacity of the ETP is 16,000 CMD.

Minimising Head & Neck Injury using Non – Newtonian Fluids

The objective of this project was to prepare a reference manual for the use of three important statistical tools used frequently in the process of total quality management viz. Defects per million opportunities(DPMO), X-Y Matrix diagram and Failure Mode Effect Analysis(FMEA). This project was under the Quality & Safety department and was thus focused on the current Safety procedures used in plant sites.

The campaign is led by the National Entrepreneurship Network and supported by the Wadhwani Foundation and other partners.
Conducting this event on the behalf of BITS Pilani, one of the founding members of NEN, we at CEL conducted this event on a huge scale and came out with flying colours.
CEL, BITS Pilani was awarded with the honour of being the best E-week organisers in the entire country and was also named to be the best E-Cell of India.
