Responsibilities
  • Had to study the different components of a hydro-electric power plant from the perspective of an electrical engineer. Studied the excitation system of the alternator in detail and also the vibration motioring system used in the shaft of the alternator.
Achievements
  • Since I already knew most of the concepts underlying electrical power generation in hydel power plants, the executive engineer who was out instructor, asked me to teach some of the concepts to a group of 30 student which I positively did with great exposure.
Transformer Manufacturing and Routine Tests on Transfromers

Responsibilities
  • Had to visit the shop floor of the manufaturing plant and gain knowledge and collect details about everyting about trasnformers and had to present them in the form of a power point presentaion. Also had to study about the diffrent testes performed on transformers before their despatch and commission.

  • Prepared presentation and report on two topics in a short duration of time.
Study of Thermal Power Station

Responsibilities
  • To study the Boiler and its auxiliaries like Economizer, ID and FD fans, Air Pre-Heater, Deaerator etc. along with turbine and alternator. Also visited the transformer yard and studied the transformers in detail. Also had a elaborate overview of coal handling plant and circulating water system.

  • Answered all the question asked during the field trips correctly.
Study of EHV Sub-Station (400/220 kV Sub-Station )
POWER GRID CORPORATION OF INDIA LIMITED

  • To study the layout of EHV sub-station and understanding of the single line diagram with different schemes such as trasfer bus scheme or One and half breaker scheme etc. and also to study the details of EHV station equipments and auxiliaries.
