Are you on Twitter yet Missing Something Itrsquos very difficult to remember the exact time and source through which I came to know of this interesting platform which boasted about being a micro-blog. During those days, Irsquod just come out of my blogging habit due to my management program. Micro-blogging was something I wanted to try out and woahh It clicked. Twitter it was. Irsquove been on Twitter for about 3 years now and have seen tremendous change in the user habits and developer features. Moreover, some handles twitter names are called HANDLES and they start with , e.g. GabbbarSingh, BeingSalmanKhan have gained so much popularity that even press media covers some of their tweets in papers. I see many youth on this Youth4work platform and have spoken/interacted with many and have found out that they are unaware of Twitter yet. This write up might help Irsquom not an expert, but I want youth on Youth4work platform to experience it and get connected with each other. Let me try at least So whatrsquos a Tweet Itrsquos a short message, info, data, blog ndash whatever, but within 140 characters. Yes, you have to compose your tweet using 140 characters, including spaces Itrsquos concise, crisp and to the point. And in these 140 characters, one can MENTION other people Tweeptle is more popular term, use - HASHTAGS , e.g. LOL, AWESOME, etc. and thus speak out their mind. Tweeple follow other handles, i.e. subscribe to othersrsquo tweets so that they can see them on their TL TimeLine. So, itrsquos understood that more popular handles have more followers, and also they are known as Twelebs Twitter Celebrities. Tweeple also RETWEET RT other tweeplersquos tweets ndash i.e. promote them to their followers and can REPLY to the tweeter also. RT happens automatically and also manually if one wants to add his/her comments/punch/etc. to the original tweet. If you use Twitter through your mobile, you might get an option of QUOTE , i.e. quoting othersrsquo tweets in between ldquordquo and adding your comment to it. If you add a picture or a website URL to your Tweet, depending on the size of picture and URL length, your characters get cut down from 140. When many tweeple start tweeting using one single Phrase, that phrase starts trending. It comes under TRENDS and therersquos a separate section for it. Trends are worldwide, countrywide and citywide also. You can search for any topic or person as well. To start off, create a login account with an interesting handle name, Profile Picture AVI and a Header Picture yoursquoll know this when you login. One of the most important part in your profile that will urge others to follow you is your Twitter BIO . Write an interesting BIO about you and gain some followers of course, good tweets are primary requirement. So this will help you to start off and get going on Twitter.
