Responsibilities
  • As a systems engineer, Monisha was involved in end to end cycle of the project. Given her previous experience in earlier project she analysed the existing mainframe JCL and Cobol codes and prepared document to mention what the existing system does. Using that as a starting point and also the data mapping document from the data analyst, she prepared the high level and low level design documents. Being the only programmer in the team, during the major part of the project, Monisha coded almost all the codes required, as per the design. At every stage, she made sure from the Project Lead, that the completed programs were in sync with the requirements, and also satisfied all the previous and new conditions from the client. She also created unit test cases to check the integrity of the code. After the signoff, Monisha was actively involved with the team in developing mappings to mimic the functions currently accomplished by the mainframe system, in order to create model document for future reference. At the end phase of the project, she also provided knowledge transition to the maintenance team. She found out efficient ways to reduce the overall time required for generating the code and implementing the design, and was also able to group the similar set of informations making it much easier for the maintenance team to understand and work on the codes and data. This also improved efficiency of the system and the overall throughput time got reduced.
