  • The internship is to develop a C++ tool which is able to simulate the complete decay scheme of selected radioactive nuclei and their potential daughters by randomly selecting decay pathways. This will offer a useful tool for reliable Monte Carlo simulations or analytical calculations involving nuclear data. The proposed module will be designed to work in conjunction with the Geant4 Monte Carlo code so as to offer users an alternative to the radioactive decay module currently available in Geant4.

Attended INMM (International Nuclear Materials Management) Conference held in Atlanta, Georgia.

  • Fifteen days training in Fast Breeder Test Reactor which includes lectures and visits in reactor buildings, control room, Heat exchanger and Turbine building. Different types of reactor controlling mechanisms and safety mechanisms were closely studied along with the functioning of various complex equipment. Witnessed the operation of thorium based reactor KAMINI .Seven days in Fast Reactor Test Group where different kinds of tests on reactor equipment were conducted for improving efficiency and for further development of reactors. Seven days with Reactor Design Group and studied on the different Electrical connections and supply of PFBR and its accordance with IAEA standards.
