Current Defense Minister of India is Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman her predecessor Shri Manohar Parrikar was sent back to Goa to resume his post as a Chief Minister.
From the very start of taking office, she has been working incredibly & under her leadership, the MoD (Ministry of Defence) has approved many crucial projects & procurements that have been pending for years. From rifles, snipers & ammunition to bulletproof vests and from artillery to fighter jets, she has drastically increased the pace of modernization of Indian army (a much-needed endeavor since the armed forces have suffered years of neglect & scams under the UPA rule). Her will is as good & strong as her work. She even went to the Indo-China border to meet the Chinese troops, just a few months after the 73-day long Doklam standoff & taught them the meaning of the Indian greeting ‘Namaste!’Modal content
