Project management course for experience professional

From where I should pursue project management? I am currently having three years of experience in IT project implementation

  • pls may I have a look at your C.V.Project management is generally suitable for resources who have atleast handled a team size of 10-15 years for atleast 2-3 years.That gives them a wavelength to handle medium to large scale assignments.

    The resources with average aptitude levels should have somewhere around 8-10 years.I suggest you pls share your C.V with me. Take care.

  • In order to get an answer to your question, you need to systematically follow the below mentioned process(es):
    1. Pursue acedamic knowledge on 'Project Management'. Get a book on PMBOK. This is good and cost effective. Well, there are other authors if you are really interested for PMP, you need to spell out more cash.
    2. Revise again.
    3. Give mock test (200 questions in 4 hours) online. There are a lot of sites. This would boost your confidence and let you know your performance level.
    4. Enroll at Project Management Institute (PMI). This would cost you close to 10000 INR.
    5. You need to have 30 hours on training on PMI. This is provided by various Institutes (check online). I shall not spell out a name bcoz all are business-minded. Do not fall prey to 'join us and get 100% PMI certified'. ONLY you can be certified and no Institute can use any sort of corrupt practices. This 30 hours training is a MUST before applying for the PMI Exam.
    6. Once you are confident, then apply for the PMI exam through the same ID & Password of 'Project Management Institute'. The cost of exam is close to 25000 INR.
    7. The exam is held ONLINE in select Centres. Closest to Bhubaneswar is Kolkatta or Hyderabad. You need to answer 200 questions in 4 hours. The result is declared instantly.
    8. If you fail, you have to deposit the cost of Exam again. Hence, be doubly sure before appearing the PMI Certification.
