there is no motivation theory which is helpful to u or me. there is only one thing that if u can help yourself then no one can make u upset. and the other ans is i called him/her and said that give me some galis.
Just be calm for a while and think what went wrong and how to overcome

Whatever bad things happening in our life will be fade out soon. So should not have to worry about that. If my friend needs my help i will take him/her out for small walk and talk

Motivation is linked to self-worth. To be motivated one needs to realize and understand one's capabilities, skils and needs to maintain a positive mindset. While motivating someone other than yourself, one should understand WHY the sufferer is demotivated. After understanding that reason, you can accordingly tackle the issue by generating selfworth in a relevant manner. But know that you as a person can only initiate motivation but not completely motivate a person as eventually irrespective of the external influences, one uses self motivation at some point. br /If your friend is sad or is feeling low, talk about positive things, do fun things, develop a positve vibe and eventually talk them out of their sadness and sadistic nature.
