  It's a tedious process. Actually there can be two ways! One go for the sample survey by choosing several locations keeping in my mind's all the parameters like earning of the families, consumer expenditure on essentials. In such a way you can get a rough idea about that. This is a conventional method. Second one is Little tough. But one can go to the TV showrooms and get the data for last 10 years of TV sales. After that you will have to diligently sort out the data through sampling process. So these two are the methods which I can recommend you. Let me know if was able to address your query
