Is it right that most of people in India understand Hindi better than English?

I have seen a lot of people saying it.

  • Well Ill say more than 60% Indians will agree with that. 
    The reasons can be like, 1.It's because Hindi is our mother language. 
    2.Hindi expresses a lot of emotions which helps in better understanding.
