because of the potential difference between the line to the neutral conductor for single phase system is 220-240v where as that in the case of the 3-phase system is 440v
Our secondary distribution line always connected in star system. For single phase line voltage = phase voltage but incase of 3 phase connection the line voltage = root three phase voltage. So this why single phase line called 240v while 3 phase 440v.
in three phase 440 V means that the rms value of line voltage. If you find the single phase voltage wrt neutral in 3 phase 4 wire system you will get approx 250 V.
Single phase has 1 phase nd 1 neutral but 3 phase has 2 phase nd 1 neutral in 3 phase line in 2 phase 220 voltage will flowing thats y we will called single phase 240 volt nd 3 phase 440 volt
The voltage between phase and neutral is called phase voltage. The voltage betwee two line is called line voltage .3 phase system is in delta conection . The line votage is 440 volt. Also the voltage between any one phase and neutral for a 3 phase star conection (single phase) is 240 volts. line votage = square root (3) * phase voltage
The voltage between phase and neutral is called phase voltaltage. The voltage betwee two line is called line voltage .3 phase system is expressed with line voltages. The line votage is 440 volt. Also the voltage between any one phase and neutral for a 3 phase system is 240 volts.
distribution system consist Delta_star arrangement of x- mer in star connected x_mer line voltage is root three times of phase voltage therefore while distributing three_ phase four wire system consist of 230v for each phase with neutral as a return path
The voltage between phase and neutral is called phase voltaltage. The voltage betwee two line is called line voltage .3 phase system is expressed with line voltages.
Voltage between any two phase is called line voltage. The value of line voltage is approximately 415 volts.
Voltage between any one phase and neutral is called phase voltage and value of phase voltage is line voltage divided by v3 i.e.415/v3 =230 volts.
