What is the future of someone studying Electronics and Communication?
I am also an ECE student and I think that their is lot of opportunity both in core companies, industry and in yelecte also .in India their is MNC company where ece graduates can go .
As i am a present ECE student belive me the fact that scope of ECE in India is not high with respect to IT jobs is quite acceptable as compared to other branches like CS and IT , however still some private companies like Qualcomm , Samsung , Intel , NVidia, etc . prefer to hire ECE undergraduates in India with a good CTC. But in the government sector the scope for ECE undergraduates is quite high for example companies like DRDO, BEL , BHEL, BDL, ISRO, Navy, BSNL ,Indian railways ,etc. hire ECE students even Maharatna and Navratna companies like CIL ,NALCO, IOCL,etc. hire ECE students.

Most people say that ECE students can apply to several different fields - electronics, telecom, semiconductors, microprcessors, embedded systems, etc. But there aren't many opportunities in our core fields without experience. You can specialize (PG) or get a job for minimum experience and then move onto a better field. If not, you can move into IT, Mangement or other fields with your first job or take software training for certifications and apply into those domains. Public sector jobs are available, but you'll have to clear their entrance tests or GATE and then the interviews. It just depends on what path you want to take from there. Try out as much as you can through internships on opportunities in college so that you can find out a lot of information, and that'll let you take a decision on which way you want to aim.
You have many opportunities in core sectors, PSU's, Railway, Defense, R&D, Gov't. .
Can do anything. Not necessary that a particular stream engineer will do the corresponding related work. He/she can diversify his/her work.
There are a plenty of things for an electronics and communication gaduate to do. Core jobs in Govt. or private MNC's, further education and then work for ISRO or DRDO, many software and IT companies also offer jobs to ECE graduates (if you are good at programming).
