  • Trainning is the means for Development....But both are continuous process, contributory and complimentary to each other ...both these process follow each others from the very start of life....
I look at both trainning & development from the broad spectrum applicable to all living organisms Development takes place  due to trainning......it is natural phenomena one has to undergo ,getting exposed, experienced, applied in the walks of ones's life.
The Trainning in general & in common usage means a sysmatic pattern of educating people on different ,varied ,or specific Skill set to prepare/develop for certian specified areas....

  • Training is short term or Long term process training means to give proper idea how to done work in proper manners according to company

  • Training is a process of imparting /injecting knowledge from external source such as resource person etc., whereas development is a process of using such acquired knowledge for upgrading and fine tuning the talent so as to enable one to perform better. In case of developent, one's own efforts are requred.

  • While both training and development are essential for employee growth and organizational success, they serve distinct purposes. Here's a breakdown of the key differences: Training * Focus: Primarily skill-based and task-oriented. * Goal: To equip employees with the specific knowledge and abilities needed to perform their current roles effectively. * Scope: Often short-term and focused on immediate needs. * Methods: Lectures, workshops, simulations, and hands-on activities. * Examples: Software training, technical skills development, compliance training. Development * Focus: Holistic and career-oriented. * Goal: To enhance employees' overall potential and prepare them for future roles within the organization. * Scope: Long-term and broader in nature, encompassing personal and professional growth. * Methods: Mentoring, coaching, job rotations, and leadership development programs. * Examples: Executive coaching, leadership development, career planning. In essence: * Training is about equipping employees for today's roles. * Development is about preparing employees for tomorrow's roles. While they often overlap, understanding the distinction between training and development is crucial for effective talent management and organizational growth.

  • Training refers to the process of increasing the knowledge, skills, and abilities of employees for doing work. Development refers to the overall growth of the employees.

  • Training focuses on teaching employees the specific skills and knowledge they need to perform their current job effectively. It is short-term and task-oriented, aimed at improving job performance and productivity.

Development, on the other hand, is a broader, long-term process aimed at overall employee growth and career advancement. It includes activities like leadership training, personal growth programs, and career planning, preparing employees for future roles and responsibilities within the organization.

  •  The major differences between training and development are as under:-

Training usually requires guidance (or instruction) in a series of steps to gain a skill, or set of predictable knowledge.
    Often for non-leadership related activities.
Aimed at a specific task or job role.

    Development

  • Employee training and development is an indispensable part of human resource function and management. Both the activities aim at improving the performance and productivity of the employees.
