which formula is used to convert digits to words in ms exel?

does it require any special function.................. eg: 555 to Rs. five hundred and fifty five only

  • The formula for converting digits to words in ms excel is spellnumber function; SpellNumber. it is ued to convert any digits to words in excel. It does not require any function like Rs.555 only.
    Basically there are 3 ways to use this function.
    1) Direct use of function:- We can use this function to convert say 12.50 by entering formula in cell directly; =spellnumber(12.50).
    2) Cell referencing: We can use this as cell refernce method say entering 12.50 in cell B2 and then type the formula; =spellnumber(B2)
    3) Using Insert function: We can also do it by using insert function; Select the cell and under insert function select user defined. Furhter Select spellnumber and click ok. It's done!!..So these are some of the ways to use spell number function in ms excel.

    you can do the required operation by simply following these simple steps which are as follows : 
    Click Insert Function on the Formulas ribbon.
    Under Or select a category, click User Defined. In the Select, a function list, click SpellNumber, and then click OK. Enter the number or cell reference that you want, and then click OK. 

    alternatively you can just write spellnumber(the reuired number) and press enter. it will get converted. for example,  spellnumber(12.5) will convert it into "twelve rupees and 5 paise" if it is the current amount.
