Gaussian function is localize not only in frequency domain but also in Spatial domai. why does it important in Edges detection?
Gaussian function is localize not only in frequency domain but also in Spatial domain. I have read, that this help to avoiding false edges (by using Gaussian function as Edge detector in images) and for minimizing errors in edge Position. I dont understand how this feature of localization help in Image processing? thank you in Advance for your help.
