Radius of curvature and Superelevation

Importance of Super elevation and how it is provided? Method of finding Radius of Curvature at field site ?

  • Radius of curvature defined as...arc of curve is defined from its radius...if radius is high thts means curvature is very high..and vice versa...if radius of curvature is high then comfort is high on curves...

    Now come to super elevation...these are made on curves..to avoid the sliding or overturning of vehicle...centrifugal force comes into frame toward out side when vehicle is turning and super elevation balanced it...thts why we provide super elevation...
